Acapella from PicPlayPost

This is a video karaoke social networking app that will expose your child to the risks of sexting, adult content, bullying, and coming into contact with predators. Users can post videos to a public feed, follow or be followed by anyone, and anyone can comment on another user's video without having to be a follower. The user database and videos are searchable and there is no regulation on these searches. Some adult content is filtered out but it is still possible to find adult content including graphic pornography via the search tool. While reviewing this app we found a lot of intense bullying, some pornography, profiles of minors sharing videos of themselves singing/dancing (sometimes twerking) and being followed by adult strangers who make inappropriate comments on their posts, and adults asking minors to share more on other platforms. There is no option for a private profile. This app is dangerous for any child to use and no child under 18 should have this app on their device.
This app is very popular so it may be difficult for your child to understand why they cannot use it. However, any stranger can watch or comment on your child's videos and start a conversation which can quickly become dangerous. Try asking your child while they like this app. If enjoy creating music video performances with friends from real life, there are plenty of safer options for creating and sending videos to friends only. If your child enjoys sharing videos of themselves with strangers, you should talk to them about why this is dangerous behavior. Please visit our Parent's Guides for more information.
